HEED Finland as Co-Organiser of Africa Day 2022

Africa Day is observed annually on the 25th of May to commemorate the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), created on the 25th of May, 1963. The theme of Africa Day 2022 was YEAR OF NUTRITION, celebrating Africa´s indigenous foods, diversity, and nutritional value (African Union, 2022). HEED Finland was among the four organizations that organized this event, which took place at Kanneltalo in Helsinki. The event brought ambassadors from African countries, Finns, and the African diaspora. The organizers also presented to the Audience, the top ten most influential women of African Descent in Finland, one of whom was the chairperson of Heed Finland.
