Health is Wealth-Terveys on Rikkautta is a three-year (2024–2026) STEA-funded project, which aims to raise immigrants´ awareness and knowledge about matters related to their health and the importance of making the correct lifestyle choices. The implementation will include community outreach work events, individual guidance sessions, and physical activity. The project also aims to increase cultural sensitivity among nursing students and healthcare personnel working in different nursing environments using the cultural mediator model as an innovative approach in Finland, which was piloted by HEED Finland in the Terkku project. The target group for the project is African and Middle Eastern immigrants living in Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Turku, and Tampere.

We are now looking for a project manager for the Health is Wealth-Terveys on Rikkautta project. The contract would be fixed term with an expected ending date, which is the end of February 2027). Work will begin on 1.3.2024 or according to an agreement.


The tasks of the project manager include:

• Project administration, including budgeting and finances.
• Project planning together with the project coordinator who is responsible for organizing the outreach work events and providing guidance to clients.
• Evaluation of the project’s progress and results and reporting to STEA
• Preparing project continuation applications.
• Developing stakeholder relations with the project’s cooperation partners, including HUS/Peijas, Diak UAS, Laurea UAS, and health organizations.
• Cultural mediator model development and trained mediators’ network management
• Communication about the project on HEED Finland’s communication channels (Facebook page, website) together with the project coordinator
• The project manager and project coordinator work as a pair and are supervised by the association´s board.


The project manager we are looking for has:

• Experience in STEA-funded projects (or other large government-funded projects)
• Project manager experience
• Education suitable for the position (at least Bachelor´s level)
• Experience in a multicultural organizational field
• Good IT skills and knowledge of digital platforms needed by organizations.
• Excellent networking, interaction, and presentation skills.
• Highly motivated with an independent and flexible approach to work
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good command of Finnish and English (oral and written), other languages are a plus.
